It’s currently mid-August, and it feels like this summer has just flown by in an instant. We have just 2 weeks of creek days left, and I’m already missing them. The favorite weekly activity for SCCH is Summer Creek Days with our homeschool friends. Hours are spent at local parks and preserves, enjoying the cool waters that flow through and around our county. Kids play in the waters, catch (and release) creatures, fish, swim, and practice nature photography. Every week is like a nature lesson, with all of the various flora and fauna discoveries. Adults get much-needed time to chat, catch up with friends, and make new ones.
These final weeks of August will be bittersweet. We will carry the memories of hours and hours of discovery and connection with us into the routine of fall activities, looking forward to next summer when we can do it all again.
