Clearances

The following PA Child Abuse clearances are required of all parents participating in co-op.*

1. Report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP);

2. Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse).

3. FBI Fingerprint or Affidavit:

Fingerprint-based federal criminal history (FBI) submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent is required if the volunteer has lived outside the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the last 10 years.

If the volunteer is not required to obtain an FBI Criminal History clearance, they must swear and affirm in writing that they are not disqualified from service based upon a conviction of an offense under §6344 of the Child Protective Services Law.

Cost:

PA Child Abuse History Clearance and PA State Police Criminal History Clearance are both FREE.

If you have lived in PA for less than 10 years and need to get the FBI Fingerprints done, that is $23.25. Follow the links on the website for more information & registration. The closest locations for Identogo are Pack-n-Ship in Jennersville and H&C Nursing Care Services in Coatesville.

Clearances need to be updated every 5 years (60 months).
